Bottom Line Up Front: The go-ahead has been given to begin developing and fielding the Air Force’s contribution to the Internet-of-all-military-things.

ABMS Is A Go
Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS) is the Air Force’s contribution to the Pentagon’s internet-of-all-military-things known as the Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2).
For a couple of years, the Air Force has been building the basic building blocks and staging demonstrations to verify that the foundational ideas were feasible. That time is over, and now it’s time for full-steam ahead.
The Air Force is establishing a Program Office, ramping up production, and preparing for fielding in two years.
What does it mean for me?
As we’ve said plenty of times, the internet-of-all-military-things is happening! It is coming. The opportunity for businesses is that, once it’s built, the Air Force is going to want products for it. Astute companies need to get their creative hats on and start envisioning the crazy future possibilities that an internet-of-military-things can bring. What undreamt-of things can now exist?
The Air Force is counting on innovative companies to dream them up. So go dream!
